Work in Excel
Publishing an Annual Financial Report can be done from Excel. You don’t need to learn a new tool to create XBRL reports.
Create an ESEF-compliant financial report in three simple steps.

1. Map your data
Tag your data according to the ESEF taxonomies. With customer-specific taxonomies, Clausion guides you to the correct mappings when needed.

2. Check iXBRL tags
Use Clausion iXBRL Viewer to check the tagging in a web browser.

3. Save your report
You can also add text and images in your report. When ready, publish your report in xHTML format.

ESMA and ESEF
ESMA (European Securities and Markets Authority) is responsible for developing a common European Single Electronic Format (ESEF) for European listed companies. According to ESEF, financial statements and management reports are created in the xHTML format, so that group consolidation data is tagged with XBRL tags.

What is XBRL?
XBRL (Extensible Business Reporting Language) is an XML-based markup language used for digital business reporting. With the XBRL standard, creating and handling financial statements and other business documents can be automated.
The XBRL standard itself does not restrict what kind of data can be reported. XBRL definitions, called taxonomies, can be created freely. Financial regulators and other authorities define taxonomies based on their needs.
Clausion is a forerunner in XBRL. We help our customers to easily implement XBRL and ESEF reporting projects.
